Authentic Sourdough Pasta Adventures!

By lining up super early, I was recently fortunate to score a trial of authentic sourdough pasta from local legends, The Pocket Storehouse. This was my adventure.

It was pretty exciting as pasta is not something I usually consume. Preferring to eat a gluten free diet, my 'pasta' usually takes the form of zucchini noodles! While the pasta was still made with wheat, it is fermented which breaks down the gluten proteins and is gentler on the gut.


Sooo, what to do with said authentic sourdough pasta? It certainly was a special occasions that lent itself to finding a special recipe!


Pesto and chicken? Creamy bacon carbonara? So many good choices!

But this called for a real treat and we'd worked hard all day digging a trench, digging holes and planting trees...


So we decided on Pan Seared Scallops with Lemon & Capers!




Dinner under construction. Someone was even having an organic wine and feeling quite indulgent..



The outcome? Delicious! The pasta was different to regular pasta, which was expected (a bit like how sourdough bread is different to conventional bread), but wonderful all the same and.. zero bloating!
